You can post as many listings as you wish, FREE. You can post listings for multiple skill sets. You can even set different rates for different listings (e.g. your day rate for a lookbook for hair and makeup services might differ from your day rate for a print, or a personal service provided at the clients’ homes might be charged by the hour). You can let collaborators know you are in a different location for a period of time. Search for jobs with brands that you would love to work for, and agree on rates that you're happy with.

let's talk money

Novel Creatives takes a 15% commission of each transaction through the site (or a minimum of £1, whichever is greater). Through an agency, both you and the client would be paying a fee to the agent/agency. This is usually 20-25% for both parties (which, ultimately comes from what you, the artist, would be paid). 

This way, everyone wins. Ethical, independent brands (whose budgets are generally significantly smaller, as their production costs are higher due to paying staff and suppliers fair, living wages) can afford quality talent to market their beautiful wares. You will receive more money while Novel Creatives manages and grows the network and helps to support a genuinely sustainable industry that can actually be considered.

getting paid.

You know that thing where you have to send an invoice after the job and wait weeks - if not months - for payment? You spend time chasing unreachable or disorganised accounts departments and are pushed from pillar to post in order to be paid.  Well, we take that headache away for you. How, you ask?  We receive the full fee paid upfront (held in escrow through and kept secured through our payment partners, Stripe Ltd (Novel Creatives does not have access to the funds) and you are paid 100% of the time ... provided you turn up of course! You will be paid the agreed rate, less the 15% commission due to us within ten working days of completing the shoot (often, sooner). You will need to provide the client with an invoice, but if you're really tax savvy (and your local tax laws allow) you would be able to write off the commission paid to Novel Creatives as a business expense. Please consult your accountant for the best way to do this.

safety & security

Your safety and security is of paramount importance to us. We will do whatever we can to ensure that the members are trustworthy. We do this by manually verifying each community member’s personal information provided on sign up while we undertake our due diligence. We don't share any private information with other members, except your screen name (First Name and Initial). 

We also ask that each community member helps to keep each other accountable, by making use of the rating and commenting system. 

While we have these measures in place, none of them are fool proof.
