Alys is 30, lives in Berlin and loves makeup! She always has. Alys dreamed of one day becoming a famous makeup artist and used to practice her wild and wonderful makeup ideas on her mother. Being the go-getter that she is, Alys decided to follow her dreams and went onto study at London College of Fashion (and is still paying off her student loan from 10 years ago). While she may not be "famous famous", she's pretty damn good at her job and has a string of regular clients that request her services. She can even do session hair (on request)!
One unforgettable day, a few years back, her mother got sick. It was cancer. Alys and her family started learning about all the ways they need to take care of her mom and discovered some of the scary truths about the ingredients in our personal care and beauty products. While makeup and beauty products didn't cause the cancer, they didn't help it either.
Alys decided to take action and switched her kit out to natural and organic brands, because she learned that they were safer to use on our bodies and much, much better for the health of our planet and animals too.
She believes that she has become a better artist since making the switch, because she had to learn to think differently. She loves to shop for her beauty supplies at stores like Amazingy and Content Beauty & Wellness (when she is visiting London).
Alys still loves makeup and her mom still sits as her model from time to time. She also offers her services to private clients. Whether they are attending an event, just need to feel good after a long illness or they want to start switching to clean, ethical beauty for their own personal reasons.
