Meet Amelia | An Ethically-Minded Industry Expert in Sustainable Fashion Design

Amelia is 23. She is a fashion designer and started building her conscious fashion brand a couple of years ago, after graduating from Central Saint Martins in London. She's even won a number of awards for her skilful work and mindful approach.

Amelia is a collector of things; a lover of artefacts and artful facts. Her biggest and proudest collections though are her array of buttons and vintage cotton.

She recently moved into a loft apartment with her girlfriend Heather in Hackney, and her collections now decorate the walls.

Amelia grew up on the Dorset coast and still loves to go home at the weekends. When she's there, she never misses an opportunity to go down to the beach. In recent years, her beloved beach seemed to become littered with plastic. So, she began doing beach cleans. She likes to think of them as treasure hunts.

Now she uses much of what she finds on the beaches to include in her designs (or at the very least, a source of inspiration).

Amelia needs to get her brand into the public eye and wants to shoot with other creatives who care about the same things as she does.

She uses Novel Creatives to find the right team for her photoshoots. She knows she's going to get a good deal on rates, while also supporting other entrepreneurs - all the while knowing that collectively, her team of creatives while help to mitigate some of the problems in the industry, just by doing what they do.

Sometimes, Amelia even offers her skills to other brands in need of a freelance designer. She has also found a few treasures on ReLifeCycle that are now part of her eco-creations too.
