Meet Jaqueline | An Ethically-Minded Industry Expert in Prop Styling & Set Design.

Jaqueline migrated to France with her parents from the Côte d'Ivoire when she was 3 and grew up in Paris. She is proud of her heritage and very grateful to her parents for making the choices that they did. Their sacrifices allowed her to blossom into the woman she is today.

Every year, on her birthday, her parents would take her to the Palace of Versailles. That's where Jaqueline - Jaq to her friends - fell in love with interior design...and anything covered in gold. She's been known to dress up as Jill Masterson from Goldfinger (you know, the iconic gold woman from the 1964 James Bond film) for the occasional fancy dress party.

She landed up studying interior design at Academie Grandes Terres, but soon realised her real passion was styling props on photoshoots and films sets.

A couple of years ago she read somewhere how environmentally damaging spray paints were and started off on a journey to "clean up" her creative act, so to speak.

Now Jaq only uses vintage and second-hand props to dress her sets, and relishes in finishing off old pots of paints to guild her props. Even when she doesn't have a job on, she loves to spend her weekends browsing the stores of Les Puces at Porte de Clignancourt.

She loves the ReLife Cycle feature on Novel Creatives. You can often find some of Jaqueline's favourite props given a second life on our site.

Jaqueline is the kind of talent you can find at Novel Creatives.
